Sophia Zhong

Sophia Zhong was born in Southern California, where she currently lives with her parents and enjoys school. Sophia absolutely loves to read. She also plays the piano, sings, and (obviously) writes. She is fascinated by Greek mythology, and her favorite goddess is Athena, goddess of wisdom, war, and arts-and-crafts. Her favorite book series is Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan. Sophia wrote and illustrated her first book, The Boss Bat, when she was four. She has been writing ever since. In 2018, she entered Mrs. Nelson’s Young Writers Contest, which encompassed all of Southern California, with a story called The True Story Behind Pearl Harbor. She won 1st place.

The 20 year old contest celebrates original works of poetry and prose, which are judged by a panel of local Southern California writers headed by famed author Q.L.
